Come support and watch my short film LEGEND (among about a dozen other short films), which will be premiering at the LA Asian Pacific American Film Festival. It addresses some of the holes written in the LA Weekly article from August, especially the story of the long lineage of Filipino mobile DJs that created the scene in the 80s and early 90s.

LEGEND highlights the early DJ career of Isaiah Dacio (aka DJ Icy Ice), from his beginnings as a member of the influential Spectrum crew through his founding of the empire Legend Entertainment. Navigating through cultural history of Filipino youth in Los Angeles during the 1980s and ’90s, Ice tells the story of a rich Filipino youth expression and the pioneers that built a growing DJ culture that continues to this day.
